Project Management

The contemporary planning framework often requires developers to provide detailed plans to mitigate or compensate the impacts of development on wildlife. This may include plans to move habitats or protected species of wildlife and develop enhanced Ônature' areas to off set any impacts. Frequently planning authorities are looking for what overall benefits a particular scheme offers in addition to basic mitigation.

Some species of wildlife such as bats and great crested newts require special licences to be granted to facilitate development. Other species such as slow worms require detailed measures to prevent development harming them. Licence applications require a programme of measures to avoid, mitigate, compensate and enhance the impacts of a particular development to be implemented.

Countryside Consultants are able to provide the complete service of initial survey assessment, licence application and subsequent project management of wildlife mitigation and enhancement works. We are experienced at working closely with site contractors and can source specialist contractors where necessary to help efficiently discharge planning conditions.

We also project manage environmental grant schemes such as Higher Level Stewardship acting as an agent for site managers and farmers.
