A good management plan is a vital tool in the environmental manager's toolbox. It can demonstrate best practice, secure long term funding, engage local community support as well as placing the management of designated landscapes, parks, green spaces, community areas and nature reserves on a long term footing.Countryside Consultants has experience in developing both site-based and more strategic management plans, often drafted in close partnership with local authority officers. Drafting management plans, particularly the more strategic ones, can be quite time consuming so we are able to function almost as an additional project officer Ð ideal for resource constrained authorities.
Management plans may be required to bring sites up to a standard for Green Flag Ð the open spaces' Ôindustry' standard for quality assurance. As part of our service, we are able to offer a Ôhealth check' audit if sites and services in addition to the preparation of a management plan for a fully coherent approach.
Above all we recognise that management plans need to be functional documents and all of our plans are tailored to reflect the needs of the organisations commissioning them.
